On 26 October 2026, Apple released its 27.2 software updates, and with them Siri AI launched for the first time beyond English. The new languages are French, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese and Spanish. The company announced it the same day: Siri AI is now available in beta on Apple Intelligence devices set to a supported language. The move shows the fully rebuilt version of Siri reaching a wider audience.

The announcement appeared on the Apple Newsroom page and in an Ars Technica report on the same day: both sources give 26 October 2026 as the release date of the updates.

Which Languages Does Siri AI Support Now

According to Apple, Siri AI is now available in French, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese and Spanish in addition to English. These languages were added with the updates released on 26 October 2026: iOS 27.2, iPadOS 27.2, macOS 27.2, watchOS 27.2 and visionOS 27.2. Each update belongs to its own device category, and Siri AI runs in beta on all of them. Siri AI is available on devices that run Apple Intelligence and are set to a supported language. Apple also noted that some features may not be available in all regions and languages.

As Ars Technica writes, this expansion was Siri AI's first step beyond English. Previously Siri AI was available only in English; now five new languages have been added. The new list includes French, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese and Spanish.

What Else Arrived in the 27.2 Updates

The 27.2 updates are not limited to languages. According to Ars Technica, the updates give Siri AI the ability to remember conversations: the assistant can now answer taking the content of earlier conversations into account. Personal context sources have also expanded — attachments in the Messages app, calendar meeting participants and voice messages are now taken into account. In addition, users can use the “Excluded Apps” control to remove selected apps from Siri AI's context, and selecting text in replies has become more precise.

These features broaden Siri AI's capabilities as a personal assistant: it now has more context based on the user's messages, calendar data and voice messages. At the same time, the “Excluded Apps” control lets users choose which apps' data is not taken into account. Apple introduced these features as part of the 27.2 updates.

Conversation memory, expanded personal context sources, the “Excluded Apps” control and more precise text selection — all of these arrived with the 27.2 updates. They were presented at the same time as the language expansion and aim to make Siri AI a more personal assistant in everyday tasks.

Which Devices Received the Updates

On 26 October 2026, five updates were released: iOS 27.2, iPadOS 27.2, macOS 27.2, watchOS 27.2 and visionOS 27.2. Each of them enables Siri AI to work in the new languages.

The release of five system updates in a single day means the Siri AI expansion reached all major device categories at once. Once users update their device's system to version 27.2 and set it to one of the supported languages, Siri AI starts working in the new language.

Where It Is Unavailable and What Limits Apply

Siri AI is not yet available everywhere. According to Ars Technica, it is unavailable in the European Union on iOS, iPadOS and watchOS. Users under 13 also cannot use Siri AI. These limits add to the facts that Siri AI is in beta and requires a device with Apple Intelligence.

Apple stressed that some features may not be available in all regions and languages. This means that even though new languages have been added, not all of Siri AI's capabilities may work the same way in every country. The key condition for availability is that the user's device is set to a supported language and runs Apple Intelligence.

Which Languages Will Be Added by Year-End

Apple said the expansion will not stop here. According to Ars Technica, Siri AI support in Chinese (Traditional), Norwegian, Turkish and Vietnamese will roll out by the end of the year. Together with the current five languages, the list keeps growing: French, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese and Spanish were added to English, and four more languages are planned for the next stage.

The rollout order is as follows: first only English was available, on 26 October 2026 five new languages were added, and four more languages have been announced for addition by the end of the year. At each stage Siri AI remains in beta and is available on devices with Apple Intelligence.
